Today, the project continues on under a new joint venture with alterations from the original plans. This has created a unique challenge. We would like to use the original steel members under the new plans to keep the project under budget, while maintaining the structural integrity of the super structure. We are working closely with Casco Bay, GLXC, and the project engineers to make the existing fabricated steel work. The GLX project is over $2 billion and Atlantic Bridge has been hired to construct the steel superstructure for the elevated tracks. The project originally started about five years ago and Casco Bay began fabrication of the structural steel. The project eventually came to a halt as projections of the cost became too high. As it is with every project, safety is our number one concern on the GLX project. In addition to our usual safety protocol, we have sent all of our iron workers through GLX orientation, Keolis RWP Training, all of our foreman to Safety Leadership Training, and are maintaining a safety officer onsite throughout all progress of the work. In doing this we hope to keep all of our employees safe and the job continuing on time.
